In April 2023, the University of California Office of the President, in partnership with the California Department of Cannabis Control, hosted the California Cannabis Research Briefing. Researchers, state agencies and policy makers came together to discuss pertinent policy issues on cannabis in California. A meeting summary of this event was recently published in the journal Cannabis and Cannabinoid Research covering research topics such as the environment, cannabis markets, social equity, public health, medicinal cannabis use and public safety.
