At the Society of Forensic Toxicologists meeting in Denver, Colorado, Dr. Tom Marcotte presented his recently published study examining the field sobriety tests and the identification of drivers under the influence of cannabis. The presentation was awarded the best drugs and driving presentation by the Center for the Studies of Law in Action.

He discussed the promises and challenges of using cannabis and cannabinoids as medicine, particularly with respect to conducting research in this realm and the impact on public safety.

Challenges to Conducting Medical Cannabis Research - Dr. Igor Grant - April 2023
The UC Office of the President, in partnership with the Department of Cannabis Control, held a California Cannabis Research Briefing on Friday, April 28, 2023. The event brought together California researchers with state agencies and policymakers to highlight research that can inform policy issues relevant to the State and discuss how research can be incorporated into the cannabis policy landscape.
