CMCR 2022 Symposium


The Center for Medicinal Cannabis Research (CMCR) will host a virtual two-day symposium on April 21-22, 2022 celebrating progress, policy and partnership of medicinal cannabis research. We will kick off the symposium with keynote addresses from the 2022 CMCR award recipients. Following the awards presentations, there will be a series of scientific talks covering clinical and translational aspects of medicinal cannabis research alongside panel discussions of public policy, university-industry partnership, and diversifying the cannabis and cannabinoid-based medication. Each scientific session and panel discussion will be moderated by faculty to facilitate discussion and audience participation.

Presentation of Award and Keynote Address

This award honors leaders in cannabis and cannabinoid research conducting basic and translational research of cannabinoids, other constituents of cannabis, and the endocannabinoid system. The recipient’s work has led to significant advancements in our understanding of the mechanism and physiological effects of cannabinoids and related compounds. 

8:40-9:15        2022 CMCR Award for Advancing Cannabis and Cannabinoids as Therapeutics

Presentation of Award and Keynote Address

This award honors those whose work has led to significant changes in our knowledge of or an expansion to the therapeutic use of cannabis and cannabinoid-based medicines. Recipients come from a diverse array of backgrounds, including drug development, medicine, public policy, and advocacy.
